Candle Care
Proper care for your candle ensures a safe burn and extends the life and quality of your candle.
Before Burning
- Prior to burning your candle, trim the wick at least ¼ inch.
- Place the candle on a level, fire-resistant surface. This will also help prevent possible heat damage to counters and table surfaces, and prevent glass containers from cracking or breaking.
- Avoid placement near drafts, vents or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, sooting, and excessive dripping.
While Burning
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- During your first burn, allow candle to reach a full melt pool before extinguishing to avoid tunneling.
- Keep wax pool free of debris at all times.
- Never burn a candle all the way down. Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains at the bottom. Excessive burning may cause glass to crack.
- Never burn a candle near flammable objects. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
